34 years, 47 million killed.

A senseless anniversary takes place today and will actually be celebrated by some. January 22nd marks the 1973 anniversary of the day that the Supreme Court, in the minds of liberals and feminists and way too many republicans, wrote a new law giving women a 'right to privacy.'

No doubt, on television tomorrow, you will see this celebration of death. Men and women will be celebrating the 'right' to kill a baby. They will be marching. They will be giving long winded speeches. They will be laughing and shaking hands. They will be patting each others backs as they congratulate each other on a job well done in their efforts to keep abortion safe, legal and rare.

It is estimated that over 46 million babies have been murdered since Roe. Is this a number that one can really comprehend? That's a whole generation of humans who never had a chance to live their lives. And they are humans aren't they? Can anyone tell me that the picture I posted here of the baby in the womb would grow up to be anything but a human? No you can't. In fact, a few months later, this is what comes out of the womb.
Why, it's a baby! In fact, it's a human baby. It will never be anything else. Will never be an elephant, a reindeer or even a mouse. Always a human. And the saddest part of all is that we (yes, we) have grown cold to this tragedy. Tomorrow as this celebration of death plays out in the United States, 3829 more babies will be horrifically taken from the womb that sustains their life.

The biggest contributor to this culture of death is Planned Parenthood. According to the National Right to Life's fact sheet, Planned Parenthood is the nation's leading abortion performer and promoter. An actual Planned Parenthood advertisement from the same fact sheet says, "Babies are loud, smelly and expensive. Unless you want one." Rush Limbaugh has always said something like this; "If you want to find out the true motives of anyone, follow the money trail." According to the fact sheet, in 2002, Planned Parenthood took in more than $79 million dollars from abortion procedures. That represents about 1/3 of their total revenue from 2002. Abortion is big business. If the average cost of an abortion is $400, and there are approximately 1.3 million performed each year, then revenues from abortion are toppling over a half a billion dollars.

Still, sadly, few are genuinely outraged. More folks get upset when a snail darter is threatened in a small creek. The list of endangered species in this country is ever increasing. You can be punished severely for harming any creature on that list. The same liberals who protect these species are the same ones who want ensure that humans can kill their own.

I remember the outrage and emotion that followed the space shuttle Columbia re-entry accident. Yes, the accident was a tragedy. Seven astronauts lost their lives doing what they loved to do. Imagine a shuttle accident happening over 3800 times a day. Would the public get so used to these accidents that no one even paid attention to them anymore? Well that’s exactly what’s happened in this country regarding abortion. The public has become so accustomed to abortion as normal, that they turn a blind eye away from the fact that over 3800 babies are sacrificed on the alter of ‘pro-choice’ each day.

It does not have to continue. Roe must be overturned.

Join the National Right to Life and support them financially if you can. The republicans can no longer be trusted to end this travesty. Join a real Conservative party and vote. And I specifically mean the Constitution Party. The Constitution Party is the only political party out there that still cares for life in the womb.

Let's end this now.

I live in Virginia and used to work in Washington DC. Every January 21st I would go to the Pro-Life March on Washington. Each year people would come together from all over the country to march. It was like one giant pep rally. Christians would talk about how awful abortion and how we needed to stop the killing.

But year after year I'd be marching again, holding my sign wondering why I had to come back for another year. Nothing changed.

My friends and I started a group at church, one I might add that our baptist preacher wanted to keep hush hush. Political action committees didn't "belong" in church. We picketed abortion centers. (We had one RIGHT NEXT DOOR to the church.) We passed out flyers. I worked in a pregnancy center trying to convince young teenage girls to keep or give their babies up for adoption. That was in the 80's.

It's now 2006. I remember those days and how little people wanted to join us. They'd talk about how wrong it was but wouldn't join the fight. I got burned out and finally stopped marching the year my son was born on January 22nd. (Today he's 15 years old.) Our group couldn't continue w/o the support of the church.

15+ years ago...I can't believe it's been that long...I have become silent also. And now I sit ashamed because I have just realized how I have become like everyone else.

You are right...we need to stop making excuses and save those precious babies.

You are so right. Everytime I read about abortion, I get so mad, and so sickened by the thought, particularly as you mentioned, in light of the "endangered" species. I once read of a fellow who was put in prison for squishing some insects in a puddle on his own property. Bugs!!! Sheesh! And yet those same individuals will fight to the death the right for a person to have an abortion. I just can't comprehend the logic (lor lack thereof) that these indivuals use.

Worse still, though are the idiots who bomb these clinics, and those that picket and call the girls terrible names. That's surely not the way to win the fight. You have to win the hearts. The hearts have to change. That is the only way to change things. Changing a law won't work. It *might* reduce it, but probably not. Gotta change the hearts.

We have our work cut out for us!

Unfortunately, the vast majority of Americans buy the lie that a fetus is not a baby. They also buy the lie that the actions of others do not affect us. They sit on the fence until trouble is in their face, and then they fall to one side or the other.

The pro-abortion crowd speaks of human sexuality as if it is equivalent of the sexuality of a dog. "We cannot help our impulses". "Kids are going to have sex, so we should make it as safe for them as possible". Women are the most degraded by this rhetoric, as they are characterized as being to given to animal instinct and lacking the intelligence to know what they are doing until it is too late, and baby is in the womb.

The only logical end to that we travel toward a complete culture of death. The culture of life proclaims that God gives life and God takes life. The culture of death proclaims that people are no better than animals, shapers of their own destinies, and the value of a person depends upon what they are able to contribute. Cannibalism is just around the corner.

Unfortunately, again, although the majority of Americans, I believe, are opposed to abortion, many do not stop to think of what abortion truly is. Babies in the womb have been so dehumanized! Even if Roe v. Wade is overturned, some states, if not a majority, will make abortion legal at the state level.

Does this mean that anyone should just give up the fight? I say not. You may not be able to change the world, but if you can influence one person to help them to realize that actions have consequences, intended or unintended, and that abortion IS murder, then you have done a reasonable service.

Well said. Abortion is homicide, and no one can prove otherwise. It is beyone disturbing... it is modern evil at its purest form.
