Those who have had their “tickets punched” and have been assured, mistakenly, of their salvation solely due to something they did, a card they filled out, a prayer they recited, are some of the hardest people in the world to reach with the real message of repentance and faith.

Right!
Salvation is a process. It is not a one-time event (as so many believe).
St. Paul says, "For those of us who are BEING SAVED..."
Repentance and forgiveness...dying and rising...old to new...over and over and over again. And this is God's work...not our own. "He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion..."
Even Jesus warns us that drunkeness and the cares of the day could cause us to "LOSE OURSELVES". (He won't lose us but we can lose ourselves)
so what people need is to be reminded of their constant need for a savior. It's an ever-present reminder here in Iraq. see my last post at my blog.
