We will not be fully saved until we are home with the Lord; salvation will be made complete in Heaven.
Fruits are genuine evidence that we are saved, but as Steve has pointed out before, Mormons do good deeds as well as JW’s and other cult followers. Fruits alone are not good indicators of salvation (although they will be there when one is saved).

Growing in holiness is a much wiser way to look at this.

When you are growing in holiness (reading your Bible daily, praying, sharing the faith, etc.) you are becoming more Christ-like and your walk will be more intimate with the Father.

Holiness, Bible reading, praying and witnessing are just some of the marks of born-again believer who is keeping his eye on the pearl and looking toward goal at the end of the race.Dawghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06667201139980869656noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20374252.post-67791184652097499662008-06-03T23:07:00.000-05:002008-06-03T23:07:00.000-05:00jeff greathouse, How can you judge the fruits if ...jeff greathouse,

How can you judge the fruits if you do not know the heart?

The wheat and the tares grow together, Jesus said. Don't mess with them untill the time of harvest.

Jesus also said that many will come to Him saying Lord, Lord, we have done such and such in your name. And He will say depart from me, I never knew you.

God chooses who will believe in Himself. Faith is a gift that He gives.

When people ask me if I am born again...I say, "yes...and again, and again, and again.

It is a process, St. Paul tells us. In 1st Corinthians he says"...for those of us who are being saved..."

I judge no ones fruits. Indeed I don't even judge my own.

Thanks Jeff!

- Steve MartinAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20374252.post-17903734495200370802008-06-03T16:49:00.000-05:002008-06-03T16:49:00.000-05:00I would think that in the conversation of .....Are...I would think that in the conversation of .....

Are you born again ???

You would look to see if the Fruits of the Spirit are evidentThoughts From Jeffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11658741692973255432noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20374252.post-74796913496185206442008-06-03T13:07:00.000-05:002008-06-03T13:07:00.000-05:00It is the overcoming the world bit that causes me ...It is the overcoming the world bit that causes me problems when I see so many Christians worrying about some odd bits of Leviticus and failing to show love and compassion to others."Sir"https://www.blogger.com/profile/03459619874470824848noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20374252.post-18372301921911800012008-06-03T09:28:00.000-05:002008-06-03T09:28:00.000-05:00In light of your post, what do you make of Romans ...In light of your post, what do you make of Romans 7?

Written by the one that Jesus chose after all the others, Paul sheds some light on the battle that rages within himself (after he was converted)with regard to the dual nature of the believer.

After Romans 7, go back to Romans 6 and notice how Paul dscribes our baptism and what has happened there.

Interesting and quite relevant to your post.

Thanks!

- Steve M.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
